IS BITTER IS BETTER ?

When olive is picked up from the tree it is far bitter to eat, but you know that this bitterness is so amazing for your health ! This bitterness is due to antioxidants- Tocopherol and Polyphenols respectively. Antioxidants contributes many health benefits.
     The extra virgin olive oil is fresh    juice simply made by crushing     olives,that's why  high quality olive oil tastes bitter with pungency.The degree of bitterness depends upon how ripe the olive is, bitter olive oil is positive thing.However after a couple of month the olive oil become mellow,softer and milder.But the olive oil that are too older, tastes rancid and having greasy texture.

OIL CLEANSING FOR OILY SKIN

Oily skin appears to be nightmare,as it gives rise to many skin related problems like -blackheads,acne and blemishes and make the skin looks dull.In hope of getting rid of oily skin we use to wash our skin frequently and here more problem starts,as skin produces more sebum and hence more skin problem leads to frustration.But here I am going to tell you a very simple and effective tip that I'v found for cleansing the oily skin.
Apply olive oil on the skin it has its own benefit,though this idea sound somewhat crazy.But you heard about a phenomenon in chemistry that like dissolves like,that's how oil dissolve oil.When olive oil applied on the skin it dissolve the hardened oil in the pores and allow to get rid of dirt and bacteria. Interestingly olive olive oil doesn't clog the pores so it may not be the main culprit for of sudden pimple breakout.Olive oil contains antioxidant known as polyphenols this keeps the skin moist,It contains vitamin A which helps to maintain the pH level of skin and hence maintain skin healthy.It also have antibacterial properties since bacteria can worsen the condition of acne on the face.Antibacterial properties prevent the condition of acne to become worsen.It add extra glow to skin giving radiant look.

2.It contains Marvelous polyphenols that have antioxidant properties which is good for our health,so select EVOO that are rich in polyphenols.
3.Now the question arises that polyphenol content is not mentioned anywhere,so how to choose? choose high quality of EVOO that are packed in dark containers with harvest date closest to the most recent season.
By keeping these keys in mind you can utilize the goodness of olive oil in the best possible way.

  • Olive is a drupe with a central single seed surrounded by edible pulp.The color of the olive doesnot depends upon its state of maturity.Many olives starts off green and turn black when fully ripe,however some olives start of green and remain green when fully ripe,while others start of black and remain black.
  • Olive are too bitter to be eaten right off the tree,olive fruit contains tyrosol,phenolic compounds such as oleuropein & oleocanthal.These compounds are responsible for the bitter and pungent state of olive oil.
  • Olive oil shelf life is 18 months,after pressing before becoming rancid.Three factors changes the oil taste -air,temperature,and sunlight,thats why it is kept far from sunlight in the coll and dark place.
  • Mostly olive oil is produced from olives grown in Spain,Italy and Greece, but it is also grown in France and California, there is change in color and flavor of olive oil  noticed according to geographical region-
  1. Spanish olive oil is typically golden yellow in color with a fruity,nutty flavor.
  2. Italian olive oil is often dark green and has herbal aroma and grassy flavor.
  3. Greek olive oil packs a strong flavor and aroma and tends to be green.
  4. French olive oil is typically pale in color and has a milder flavor than other varities.
  5. California olive oil is light in color & flavor with a bit fruity taste.
